In rural Mississippi, the digital divide is still a relevant barrier to economic advancement. Roberto Gallardo explains the impact that high-speed connectivity could make on a struggling population and the extension service model he is using. Roberto Gallardo is a former Associate Extension Professor of the Mississippi State University Extension. He holds an engineering degree from the University of the Americas in Mexico, a master’s in economic development from Southern Miss University, and a Ph.D. in Public Policy and Administration from Mississippi State University.
