Biography
Computer simulations will modify and possibly replace the scientific method in medical research. This talk describes an incredibly accurate, decades-in-the-making, software model for the human body.
Dr. Summers is an attending physician, professor and associate vice chancellor for research at University of Mississippi Medical School. He is an accomplished physician-scientist with nearly 300 publications to his credit and a member of the team that developed HumMod, the world’s largest mathematical model of integrative human physiology, simulating the interaction of 6,000 variables describing cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, neural, endocrine, skeletal, muscle and metabolic physiology.
